Even though cold sores are treatable, it would be better if you avoid the virus altogether. Since the virus is extremely contagious, kissing someone with cold sores is enough to pass the virus. Avoid possible triggers of the herpes simplex virus such as sun exposure. Supplements such as vitamin C and E are also excellent options to reduce the occurrence of the sores. If you are acquainted with anyone who has cold sores, make sure to avoid using the towels, razors, or any materials they have previously used.
Don't cover it with too much lipstick or make-up.
Lipstick and make-up have ingredients that can worsen cold sores. If it is possible, try to avoid applying lipstick altogether and keep the area with the lesions clean. Don't touch the affected area too much and apply ice as often as you can to relieve pain.
Use lip protection with SPF
Since sun exposure is one of the primary factors that trigger cold sores, applying lip protection is a must. Look for a product that has at least 15 SPF and apply it to the lips and other easily affected areas. Always wash your hands before and after applying lip protection.
Since they can be highly contagious, make sure to replace your tootbrush after a cold sore attack. The virus can easily attach itself to various materials and may trigger another attack. Keep in mind that cold sores usually happen to people with a poor immune system, so stregthen yours by taking vitamins and supplements.

Herpes simplex is a viral infection that attact the skin. The most visible symptoms are cold sores, basically seen as small painful blisters filled with fluid located on the mouth and face or other parts of the body.
Basics on cold sores
Herpes is caused by a virus called herpes simplex type 1 or herpes simplex type 2, which appears during or after a fever. The virus is usually dormant until a trigger activates it. Hence, aside from fever, cold sores may also be triggered by stress, menstruation, or even sun exposure. Symptoms include an itchy feeling around the mouth followed by the actual appearance of the blisters after a few days or sometimes even hours.
Treatment for cold Sores
Treatment for cold sores range from over the counter to home remedies. Ice is a popular treatment method to reduce the pain as well as prevent the virus from spreading. Salt as well as tea bags are also excellent when treating cold sores. Just steep the tea bags, let it cool and apply to the cold sores. After a few days, it should harden and crust naturally. Over the counter medicines are also available for those who do not want to be bothered with hourly applications.
Cold sores can be treated without going to the doctor. However, if you are experiencing high fever or any irritation in the eyes, then it is reccomended that you seek medical help. If your cold sores are also developing pus, then you might want to make a visit for medical check-up. Keep in mind that although the condition can be treated, this does not mean that you have to take the infection for granted.

Herpes is a disease caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) and is usually transmitted sexually or by having sex with someone who is infected. This type of disease is remains in the cells forever and cannot be eliminated completely. Because of the nature of the virus, there have been many beliefs associated to the disease. Following are some of the myths regarding the virus.
You can get genital herpes from dirty toilets
The genital herpes virus usually dries out and can be easily broken down when exposed to air. Hence, the chances of the virus being spread through toilet seats are slim. In fact, there have been no known cases when toilet seats have facilitated the virus transfer.
Genital herpes can cause sterility
Herpes does not cause sterility. However, other sexually transmitted diseases can cause sterility, thus making it vital to regularly have yourself examined for possible diseases.
Although herpes does not bear the same weight as other STDs, they are serious in their own way and thus must be treated as early as possible. Keep in mind that herpes is transferred through direct contact. Hence, the possibility of contacting the virus is lessened by using sex barriers such as condoms.

There are ways for you to avoid genital herpes. Sometimes, avoidance is the best “cure” for a sexually-transmitted disease that still has no cure.
Safe aex
Foremost in the ways to avoid genital herpes is to practice safe sex. Using a condom during sexual intercourse is basic. If you plan to indulge in oral sex, it is best to use a dental dam to shield from direct mouth to genital contact. One can fashion a similar shield by cutting a 3X3 inch square off an unused condom. Likewise, it is best to refrain from oral sex if one of the partners has HSV-1 infection (mouth sores). This herpes strain can also cause genital herpes.
Sexual abstinence
Likewise, sexual abstinence is also a surefire way to avoid genital herpes. This applies specially to people outside monogamous relationships. If one’s really concerned about the dangers of infection, it is best to abstain from sex.
Testing for herpes infection
If you experience any of the symptoms, accompanied by painful urination or vaginal discharge, check with your doctor immediately. You may or may not get blisters or small ulcers in the genitals. The doctor will need to conduct sample tests to confirm your infection.

There are common signs that are symptomatic of genital herpes. At the first onset of the disease, the afflicted will experience what’s typically the most painful phase of genital herpes. The experience during future onsets of the disease is less severe.
Symptoms include muscle aches, headaches, painful urination or vaginal discharge, fever, and swollen and tender lymph nodes. These are on top of visible clusters of small ulcers or blisters in and around the genitals of the person. These common signs will usually last for up to a month.
What to do when signs of genital herpes are seen
When you find some blisters or small ulcer clusters in/or around your genitals and feel any of the above symptoms, it is best to get a check with your doctor first. Do not self-medicate. Sometimes, no visible symptoms (small ulcers) become apparent even when one’s afflicted with genital herpes. It is best to go see your doctor if you experience painful urination or vaginal discharge, accompanied by the other physical symptoms of the disease.
Medications for genital herpes
There is currently no cure to genital herpes. What the afflicted can do is take several drug options that inhibit the symptoms and minimizes the physical discomforts that come with the disease. Examples of these drugs include Valacyclovir, Famciclovir, and Acyclovir.

Genital herpes refers to a common and highly infectious sexually-transmitted disease caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV). There are two strains of this virus, namely HSV-1 and HSV-2. Most often, genital herpes is caused by the HSV-2 strain. However, genital herpes can also be caused by the HSV-1 strain through transmission via oral sex. Genital herpes results in clusters of small ulcers or blisters in and/or around a person’s genitals.
Available treatments for genital herpes
While genital herpes cannot be cured, there are available antiviral medications that minimize symptoms. These include Acyclovir, Famciclovir, and Valacyclovir. Ideally, these medications should be taken for at least 7 days. These medications can also help prevent future outbreaks.
Reliability of current genital herpes treatments
The current drugs used to treat genital herpes do not cure the disease but only suppress symptoms and prevent future outbreaks. Even so, these remain good alternatives to people afflicted with the disease.
Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease that should not be ignored. Aside from taking the approved medication, there are logical practices, such as avoiding perfumed and antibacterial soaps, that an inflicted person can do to lessen the impact of the disease.

If you are a sex addict, then you are most probably the sure victim of genital Herpes. It is a virus that easily clings to your genital organ and quickly spreads all throughout the creases of your skin. Once it grows, you cannot do anything to get rid of it. You can reduce it, but you cannot stop it. So, I simply warn all of you. Sex is NEVER safe. Sex is a physical connection between two people. During your pleasure, you have no idea whatever virus is transferring to your body from your partner's. So, you still say it's safe?
Girls usually acquire genital herpes. Even though the virus' symptoms are not apparent in their body, it is seen in their vaginal part. They just keep the truth away from the people for they are ashamed and they fear that they would be isolated. This is because herpes virus is contagious. Sometimes, infected people choose to ignore the fact that they're infected by the virus in order to live a normal life. So, better be careful in choosing the perfect partner with whom you would share your body.
Men, they say, love oral sex. This is especially seen in gay relationships. However, even oral sex is not safe from Herpes virus. Even if a man has undergone the feared Vasectomy process, he is not safe from Herpes virus. The possibility might be reduced though. Still, Vasectomy is not an answer. Gays usually have signs of Herpes virus on their mouth or on their anus. It's also the same with some men and women. So, you still wanna have a mind-blowing sex?

A recent study proves that adolescent girls are most likely the victims of Herpes infection. 100 girls, whose age range is 14-18, were physically examined through blood and genital specimen testing. The result shows that 59.6% of these young women are HSV 1 positive, whereas 13.5% are HSV2 positive. They also conducted a follow up test and it showed that four of the participants have contracted HSV 1. This study must be a warning to all adolescent girls that they are the frequent victims of Herpes.

Genital Herpes is a sexually transmitted disease that sexually active people usually get from their partners. It is also contagious and it can spread throughout a community. These teen women who were tested didn't show any oral nor gentil symptoms of herpes, but doctors said they had the virus in the vaginal area. This only means that they would possibly transmit the virus to their partner. When that happens, your partner will be a depressed man forever.

The Herpes infections that occured to these young adults were mostly genital. And doctors said genital herpes infection is common to the youth. because of the new study, doctors concluded that HSV is prevalent in adolescent girls. They also added that in order to reduce Herpes infections, people need to take care of themselves. Additionally, parents need to protect children before they reach adolescence.

Anyone in this world can get this kind of contagious virus. Even fearless samurais, soldiers, and heroes. Everyone is capable of getting Genital herpes as long as you're sexually active. Those people, specifically men, who are addicted to sex because it enhances their manly figure are the usual victims of this disease. But even though you're not doing sexual acts, you might be infected also. If you see small blisters that are filled with fluid and are painful around your genitals or on your skin, you might already have Genital Herpes.

Where did Herpes disease come from? It originates from the the virus called Herpes Simplex type 2 or HSV-2. When this virus enters your skin, it stays in your skin's nerve cells or it goes to your nervous system. If your mother had Herpes during her very crucial pregnancy, you are most likely to have one, too, because Herpes virus is contagious. Sometimes, the virus subsides but stress, illness, sunburn, and injury awakens the virus. Some symptoms include a numb sensation, burning, tingling, and small and painful blisters. You might also feel weak and might have fever.

The first thing you can do is to consult your doctor. He will ask about your health history and might let you undergo certain physical examination. Your laboratory test result will show if you're infected or not. So, if you see some blisters around your genitals or your anus and butt cheeks, you might want to consult a doctor before the virus spreads all through out your body. This virus is actually incurable, but early diagnostics will help you prevent greater suffering.

Herpes originates from "herpein," a Greek word that basically means "creep". Apparently, herpes virus literally creeps all through out your body (that is, if you're infected). It is incurable. You can reduce its infection though. Nevertheless, victims of this virus suffer from itchiness, skin blisters, open wounds. The most popular herpes is genital herpes that usually comes from sexual acts. It's a contagious virus. So, if you have a herpes virus better consult your doctor and hide before people find out and burn you because of it.

Wrath is a virus that creeps all around the global body. First, it will start on the face of a sphere like the Middle East. Soon it will continue on your hands (think of Syria, Iraq, and Iran). As the days pass, the virus gets worse and it will affect the legs (this time -- Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and Korea). Until one day, it will burst out in the whole body, as rapid as the computer virus, in American, European, and Russian spheres. This is how herpes virus spreads. This is how wrath of war expands.

Contagious herpes virus will never end, but you can reduce your suffering. You can also prevent its spread to the entire community. You just have to forgive -- forgive yourself for being so hot and impulsive. Think -- think of those people around you that can be affected by this kind of virus. Reduce your pain. Apply steps and medications that can help you reduce your suffering and ease your anger. Cure yourself -- cure yourself from all the wounds and let go of those hurts that slowly kill people.

Do you have a secret? A secret in you that no one ever knows, sees, and feels? I know one secret that some people keep. It's a dangerous and icky secret that you sure don't wanna know. Why? Because you don't want it on your body. Herpes is a skin disease, usually in the genital area, that doctors have proclaimed "incurable." You think those red spots were allergies. Wrong, my dear Watson.
Friday, May 4. 2007
However, listen up all you sisters out there! There are three latest treatments to cure this incurable disease. This includes acyclovir which limits or stops the virus from spreading through other cells (Note: It cannot do anything once the cell is already infected). Next is valaclovir which is processed in the intestines and stomach, and limits the further replication of this virus. Lastly, famcyclovir also works like acyclovir and valaclovir.

These ways to cure herpes do not guarantee the death of the virus but do help somehow in preventing its growth. Thus, this is not the time to wallow in despair over that secret. Why don't you get up there and do your best to cure yourself with the help of your doctor? Have regular exercise and don't forget to take your vitamins. Herpes may be an incurable skin disease but you don't need to lose hope. Have faith and patience then you must take it slow. Who knows you might wake up with smooth skin again one day?

Are you aware of the symptoms of GH? GH is a kind of infection caused by the herpes simplex virus, and is almost always sexually transmitted. This infection is often mistaken for some other condition, but some people may not experience any symptom of this disease. Worse, some may mistake these symptoms as skin irritation, razor burn, jock itch, or even yeast infection. Others, on the other hand, would think these symptoms are due to tight clothing, heavy sweating, or an allergic reaction to laundry detergent. They presume that since the symptoms are not very intense, it couldn't be as serious as GH.
Tuesday, May 1. 2007
When genital symptoms are not treated immediately, it can lead to a more delicate problem. Instead of seeking professional help, many people with GH avoid their health care providers. Probably because they are ashamed of their disease. After all, this disease is very sensitive. There are people who would rather have a Type 2 diabetes rather than genital herpes. However, there's no point feeling this way. Forget about self-pity and disgrace, your future lies here, so take action now!

Genital herpes can be treated. Remember this always. Unlike cancer, this can be treated without undergoing chemotherapy. There are prescription or over-the-counter medicines that you can buy to address this disease. However, it is still best to consult a doctor to make sure that you're doing the right move. Remember, this disease can be transferred to your better half, so make sure you address it. This disease can actually make or break the bond between a husband and wife as well as among family members.

There's a new herpes drug in the block. VivaGel, is a topical microbicide solution that is applied to the vagina before a sexual intercourse. Starpharma Holdings Limited, the developer of the product claims that the gel has the capability to prevent the viral shedding and transmission of sexually transmitted diseases like HIV and herpes. The gel is said to be hypo-allergenic and it would not cause skin irritation unlike other products.
Saturday, April 28. 2007
VivaGel was first tested on monkeys and the findings said that the new gel is superbly efficient in preventing HIV infection. Starpharma also released the results of the first human clinical trial. It stated that the gel is a safe vaginal microbicide that won't produce side effects. It doesn't caused inflammation, irritation, or any harmful effects to the patients' reproductive organ. Organizers of the said study concluded that VivaGel is safe and tolerable.
Friday, April 27. 2007
The initial testing involved women who were given intra-vaginal doses of the gel everyday within the period of one week. The participants were studied by a gynecologist to check for irritations caused by the gel. Hopefully after more trials, Vivagel will soon be commercialized in the worldwide market. The gel is the premier dendrimers-based product to be approved for human trial by FDA. With the positive results and reviews that the product is gaining, it might be the next miracle medicine this year.
